Mario Scacheri (1898-1940,) who along with his wife Mabel wrote The Fun of Photography (1938) was among the earliest photographers to work with the dye-transfer color process. In this early experiment, cyan, magenta, and yellow are introduced instead of red green and blue to create a full-color spectrum. The absence of black creates purple where dark green should appear in this picture of carrots.
