Here is a publicity portrait of French actress Christine Carere taken during the last year that the New York Daily News' weekly "Coloroto" insert relied on the tri-color carbro process for its cover photos.  Color carbros were never cost efficient and at the time had the mere advantage of being a "mammoth" or "exhibition" color photograph by dint of the process' format.
