William Housekeeper was an expert on the cultivation of houseplants and honed his skills as an amateur photographer in order to illustrate his books on the subject during the 1930's and 40's.  He had a keen interest in early color, specifically the Kodak Wash-Off Relief process.  Ironically these photos were published in black and white.
