A series of pictures Ben Heller (b.1913) photographed of the1939 New York World's Fair has a cult following because of its eccentricity.  The raw, sometimes dark, and almost disdainful nature of the photos subverted the optimistic theme of the fair:  "Building the World of Tomorrow" and almost cost Heller his job with the Underwood and Underwood photo agency.
