This portrait of young British-American film star Freddie Bartholomew at age 15 is a nearly flawless tri-color carbon bromide (carbro) photograph.  It has the color and composition of an empyrian scene in one of Maxfield Parrish's paintings without the complication of billowy clouds and little birds flying in the background.
