This unattributed promotional image for General Electric's "Missile and Space Division" was created during the era of the "Space Race" between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R.  The variety of non-working components shown here suggest that it was a fanciful rather than a technical representation of a "satellite." 

The picture is also remarkably anachronistic - for being a tri-color carbro print produced during the decline of three-color assembly process photography.
