This photo of a youngster taking time to answer the phone while playing the bongos on a trampoline/chaise lounge was purchased from an archive of vernacular photos collected by Charles Phoenix (b.1962,) a humorist, author, and performer devoted to kitschy cultural artifacts filed under the category "Americana."

Its distinction as a color photo is that the print has been processed from a cibachrome transparency.  Cibachrome was considered the ne plus ultra in color accuracy after Kodachrome lost its luster in the early 1960's.
