Before photographer Edmund Teske (1911-1996) moved from Chicago to Los Angeles and before he started experimenting with psychedelic drugs and imagery, his figurative work had a more subdued quality. This is a picture of Teske's lover, Richard Soakup (real name) nodding off in their Chicago flat.
