The S.S. Rex (foreground) was an Italian Ocean Liner launched in 1931. It held the Blue Riband (blue ribbon) title from 1933-1935, an award for the fastest passenger ship traveling across the Atlantic. The pride of King Victor Emmanuel and then Mussolini, it was destroyed by Allied bombers in 1944.
