This study of a sculpture portraying the ancient Roman god Mercury was shot inside the Ford Pavilion at the 1939 New York World's Fair.  Mercury was a division of Ford Motor Company and the name of an automobile manufactured by Ford.  The photographer, M.F. Agha, was best known as the avant-garde art director of Conde Nast Magazines from 1929-1943.
