Not an unusual sight in New York City during this era. What’s surprising is that these guys stopped and took the time to talk about it.
One afternoon during the summer of 1976, at the intersection of Broadway and W. 77th St., I saw a Chevrolet Caprice pursued at high speed by the police. Four shots were fired as a few pedestrians looked up and casually continued on their way.
Volz (b.1948, Tuttlingen, DE) may be best known for documenting the enormous installations in which familiar landmarks were wrapped and draped by artist Christo and his wife Jean-Claude.
